Hi guys, I've quickly sketched up a lead screw corexy based on the digital dentist's design just to see how things will fit together. I've built a d bot before, but this time, I want to start off a build from scratch and try to get everything right. I have a few questions regarding the mounting of lead screws. I'm considering a triple lead screw setup (20mm diameter lead screws because it costs the same as the other diameters and it's less likely to get bent in shipping).

While you're doing that, please post a listing of the prices for all the hardware, etc. It will be interesting to know if the triple lead screw approach is any less costly than UMMD's dual belt system driven by the Rino.

Here's the breakdown for UMMD's Z axis

ebay (prices include shipping):

F608zz bearings - 10 for $7 (2 used)
8 mm shoulder screws - 10 for $15.02 (2 used)
30" THK linear guides with bearing blocks- 2 for $110
Rino worm drive with motor - $ 116.15 (1 used)
600 mm long keyed shaft for Rino - $31.60
pillow block bearings for Rino shaft- 2 for $12 (2 used)
36 tooth HTD-3M drive pulleys, 2 @ $15.77 each (2 used)
HTD-3M belt $23 (5m, 3.5 m used)

local stuff:

Misc. bits of 1/4" tooling plate @ $2/lb, maybe 2-3 lbs used.
5/16-18 carriage bolts/nuts $1 per lb
3"x3"x 1/4" aluminum L stock x 7" long - makerspace.
40x40 mm t-slot @ $1 per lb, probably 8-10 lbs used for Z, total
locktite $4
8mm nylon washers - 4 used, my junk box

20mm lead screws are a double-edged sword -less likely to get bent in shipping, but if they do, they're going to produce stronger lateral force on the nuts/bed support. I went with belts to eliminate such lateral forces.
