Need help with homing
August 31, 2018 01:36PM
This is my first time building a 3d printer and I cant seem to get my printer to home properly. Its a coreXY design with TMC2130 drivers using Marlin 1.1.8. The axis move in the right directions but when homing they seems to get stuck.

More knowledgeable will chime in, but as far as I know the trinamic drivers needs to be tuned to trigger back emf properly. Search google for more info on this. Basically your gantry and x carriage mass could trigger the back emf detection so you need to adjust this point so that it doesn't trigger in normal use. Also, I think I've seen an option to turn it off when the printer doesn't use the homing command, ie in normal use the printer won't trigger.

My Duet ethernet is on order so I did a little research what the capabilities are and just passing on what I've learned.
