Check last post.

When using the Driver Software(on wiki), it would freeze when i clicked the arrow to move the x motor.

I using the preassemble board from Ultimachine . It has an Arduino MEGA 2560. I installed the drivers and connect though COM3 on windows. The CMD does not report a connection error.

I can probably get access to an ECE lab if i need to.

I do plan on moving over to skeinforge when I have the machine calibrated.

Try pronterface, It will be easier to debug connection issues as there are fewer settings you have to set. Also it gives confirmation of a connection before you start jogging axes. Main things to check would be baud rate settings in both firmware and software, com port settings in software matching the port you are plugged into, solder joints on the board, possibly driver issues with the USB to serial cable.

Also, double check that the board installed properly in device manager. I had driver issues on load up under XP (same board from the same supplier) and had to import the driver. When I did it created com5 for the board. I now use Pronterface most often. Simple to use. Clear status indicaters etc.

@bryanandaimee

Thank you it was just a baud mismatch. Also prointerface is much better. Now i am talking to the arduino board fine but the motors don't seem to work. I don't if my power is faulty or if a conection is loose or what.

Finals are not giving me much time to work on this. I might wait until i get home and have a multimeter and all that good stuff.
