Plate question

Hey guys! Newbie printmakers here... We are in the process of putting together out first printer (sae mendel) and we're a little confused about attaching the plates. Would you guys recommend the static bushings or the PLA bushings that snap on? We have both... But if we use the static ones I think we need another little metal part to stick inside.

Thanks for your insight!

I used brass bushings. There's all kinds of bushing material that will work, it just needs to be match fitted to the rods.

To keep things simple the PLA ones will work fine, just slide them on. If they're tight yet you can heat one end of the rod and slide it over and back until it conforms.

I use linear bearings for all the Prusa's I make and sell as I find them so much better than anything else I have tried so far

Thanks! We decided to go with the PLA bushings we already had. They were way too tight but we read a suggestion that said to slide them on a threaded rod to loosen them up. It works great now!
