A wall painting machine

A wall painting machine
January 30, 2012 11:30PM
Hello RepRapper's !!

I am new to this web site and i need help for my idea. i am in grade 9 and my idea is.........

A Wall painting machine!

I thought that let me make a machine just like a printer which when programmed about the size of the wall ,paints it ...
for the starting ,i have thought that minute gaphics need not be considered but still the wall must be painted and that too with a roller ...

so ,i need a guy who can tweak the program of a printer and make it useful to me...

Regards,
Azad

... can it be a spray-bot too? - [hektor.ch]

its not a spray-bot ,but it has a roller which keeps on moving and the larger unit holding the roller and the paint container moving like the print head of a printer .in a printer ,the paper move ,here ,the machine moves.

... if you google for "wall painting robot", you'll find mostly spray-bots.

Painting with a roll or brush is not so easy and error-proof as with a spray gun ...

BUT MY IDEA IS NOW A BIT CHANGED.
IT WILL BE A PAINTER MOUNTED ON A CONTROLLED SHOPPING TROLLEY.
WHEN WE FEED THE TYPE OF WALL ,NO OF WINDOWS DOORS,ETC, IT WILL AUTOMATICALLY CREATE A IMAGE USING WHICH IT WILL MOVE THE ROLLER

Looks good, but room for improvement.

Looks to me like it could do with a third motor to control the tension in the belts, or at least add weight to the print head.

Would a airbrush gun be more effective than cans?? Better control of the flow rate?

... there are many other designs, some of them already in comercial applications with spray-guns.

But Hektor is my favorite because of his simplicity and scalability ...

You need not tweak the printer code.

Simply make another robot programmed for painting.

I built a couple of machines based on the concept of hektor.ch but using a pen instead, some some of it is documented on my blog: [fightpc.blogspot.com.es]

I do not think this approach would work well with a paint roller though.
