Prusa BOM

I've been reading up on the Prusa, looking over the BOM on the wiki and Wade's extruder, and just digging around in general. I've made a list of the items in which I will need to build the Prusa with the extractor. I've put together a list of the general parts I will need along with their prices (excluding shipping and tax) and the source of each item. Let me know if you think I've got everything.

I went through and looked at several options from several different sources and compared/contrasted all of them. I think this list is probably my best bet to get all of the items I need from the least amount of vendors and the least amount of money. I looked at locally sourcing all of the hardware, but it came out to be right around the same amount as the hardware kits. I also looked at the forums for plastic parts and they came out around the same price as the Lulzbot kit. I realize I may need a few other parts such as the thermistors, springs, and a power supply. Any feedback on those parts would also be appreciated. Thanks.

Of course I also realize I could save some money by hobbing the bolt myself, building the electronics myself, etc, but I'm also looking for the easier route possible for this first machine.

HI..

Yes, you can also pick-up a MEGA 1260 from ebay for $30.00 (the 1280 is all you need), You would do better getting a RAMPS 1.4, 1.3 is old but still works great.

You aslo want to think about ordering a set of printed parts that use LM8uu liner bearing and getting some Alum pullies from ebay. these 2 improvment will help in giving you good prints.

power supply?

As I mentioned in my original post, I realize I still need a power supply, maybe a few springs, some thermistors (I have no idea about this one, please inform me otherwise if you know). I've read several places that you can use a ATX power supply and I have several decent ones that aren't being used at the moment, but I'm not sure what is required with the heat bed so I'm going to have to do some digging before I finalize that.

I use an ATX power supply with 18A on the 12V rail that works fine on a Mendel with RAMPS 1.2 with a heated bed. Others claim that they can run with a supply rated at 16 A but I wouldn't go any lower than that. One with 20 A would probably be better since most companies overrate them.

I use a 12V 6A brick and power my heatbed from mains:

Thanks for the feedback and the image. I have a nice Antec PSU sitting here that advertises 20A DC on the 12V rail so I should be set to go.
