Finnally Printing, Advice on print settings

Hey Guys,

I have attached a few photos of my first print. I have a mendel with sprinter elec. Wades extruder and .35mm nozzel. The sqaures were pinted at different speeds, one slower and one faster. It is clear that the slower one is a bitter. The other parts were printed on the slower speed. I used Slic3r to do this because I couldn't get my feed and flow rate to coinceid in skeinforge. I think I may be extruding a little to much material, or it is a little to hot. I am using PLA at 205 deg. I used a thickness equal to the nozzel diameter in Slic3r, and am wondering if this is suppose to be smaller? Also I am thinking that my esteps per mm may be slightly off. I have using a nema 17 spark fun stepper at 200 steps per rev bipolar. Also I am using the pullulo with sangilio mother board, so I beileive that means I need to multiple the steps my 16. Does this look correct bellow:

Steps Per Rev motor shaft = 200
Steps per Rev Large gear shaft = 200(39/11) =709
Linear distance from one rev of Hobble bolt (7mm Dia Hobble bolt) = 22mm
Steps per mm = 709/22 = 32.23 steps per mm
Factor in the driver 1/16 steps = 32.23 * 16 = 515.7

Does this 515 llok right for my situation? This would make sence. Currently I have the value in my firmware set to the standard whcih is 700. Any thought as to how this difernce is affecting the sample I show?

THanks for the help in advance. Any calibrating advice would be great!!

It looks right if the working diameter of the hobbed bolt is indeed 7mm, but it depends how much the teeth sink into the plastic, so you need to extrude 100mm and measure how much is actually pulled into the extruder and adjust the steps per mm to get it exactly right.

Try doing a slow print at 190C.
