Hotend doesn't heat up all the way

Hotend doesn't heat up all the way

I have the MakerGear Hot End Kit for 3mm Filament hooked up to the ramps 1.4 board.
The hot end heats up but only to 140 C and after about 15 min.
Idk if it is a programming, wiring, or power supply issue.
Please help

My first guess would be PSU, if you have a meter, check the voltage on the heater pins.
It should be 12V, if it isn't and you are using an ATX power supply, you'll need to add a load to the 5V line.

What do you mean add a load to the 5v line? Do you want me to put the two in parallel?

Ok I got the hot end workin but now when I try to print the extruded filiment doesn't come out fast and doesn't stick to the print surface.

Also when I try to print it drifts off.

Any suggestions?

By putting a load on the 5V line I mean't placing a resistor in the 5Ohm range across the the 5V line fron the PSU, many ATX PSU's will not produce 12V from the 12V line without there being something drawing current on the 5V line.

But I'm haveing a drifting problem. It's content and in the y direction.
