Printed Parts files from the Git are the wrong size for my bearings?
June 06, 2014 07:51PM
Hello, RepRap forums! New user here. I just got the parts from the Git printed for my Prusa i3 and attempted to size them against my lm8uu (as listed on the official BOM) linear bearings. Surprisingly, the bearing slots were about 4 mm too large in diameter. Am I missing something? Which are the wrong size, the bearings or the parts? If it is the parts, is there a way to use them without reprinting the entire printer?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

The part you have printed is for LM10UU bearings.

Thanks for the help. Is there any way for me to fit the parts to the 8 mm rods and bearings I already have without re-printing the entire set? Does this mess up all of the other dimensions of the parts as well?

Maybe print some sleeves to fit the bearings into and try that. See attached. I don't have an i3 so don't know how that carriage will integrate - its a little longer than the lm8uu carriage, perhaps 8mm.

You could also look for some vinyl hose with the correct diameters.
