z axis steppers are not moving

Hey,

could anyone give me some advice? I've just finished building my first Prusa and i'm testing out the motors, I'm all connected to my laptop and i've oiled all the bearings. When I have checked the z axis pair they make a higher pitch sound that the others and do not turn. Also the y axis has a lot or juddering, I've tried realigning the smooth rods but its still happening.

Any advice?

You might have to change the current coming from the stepper drivers by adjusting the potentiometer on them. It is also possible that the driver may be dead, so you may want to swap positions with another stepper driver on your board to see if it is dead.
