Just in the process of putting a hictop prusa i3 together.
Does anyone know where I can get a piece of boro plate for it.
See plenty for sale but the bed size on this one is 220 x 275mm.

If you have an aluminium heat spreader between the bed heater and the glass, then you don't need borosilicate glass. Ordinary float glass is adequate. I get my glass print beds cut by my local glass merchant.

So, if the bed is what looks like 1/8 aluminum; I'm okay to use plain glass??

Yes. You only need boro glass if the heating is uneven, or you subject it to thermal stresses in some other way such as running cold water over it when it is very hot.

How fast does your hictop bed heats up? I bought normal window glass for mine but I am replacing the wire first because the wire is heating up badly

Don't know yet, not that far.
Just got the wiring done and was able to get the axises to move thru the lcd screen.
Will get the glass and start the other calibrations and such tomorrow.
