Z-Motor Wiring

Hi, I feel like this is a bit of a stupid question but I haven't build a cartesian system for a few years and don't remember how I did it before. I'm going to wire the z-motors in parallel so need to splice the together. Do the cables from both motors need to be the same length?

Thanks,

KDog.

The cables do not have to be the same length.

What electronics are you using? Some boards have dual Z motor connectors.

If you do need to splice them then series connection works better than parallel connection in most cases, unless you are using low current high inductance motors.

Thanks for the reply. I'm using an Azteeg x5. It only has one connector. Panucatt said to wire the z-motors in parallel as they will be sharing the load and don't really require much current.
