Upgraded to dual extruders - extruder0 works but extruder 1 won't heat up

Hey everyone,

I have a hictop printer 3DP-17 and I just upgraded it to dual Mk8 extruders...

I have updated the Marlin firmware (I edited the configuration.h and added the second extruder ) recompiled it and sent it to my printer.. Everything seems good but it will not heat up extruder1 - extruder0 heats up but it was turning in the wrong direction and pushing out the filament.. I edited configuration.h again and resolved that issue but still no go on extruder1.

I contacted HIC and all they said was that it does support dual extruders but it will not work with auto level bed and filament monitor. I am not using either of those 2 features.

Any suggestions on what I am missing to get extruder1 to heat up? Do I need to comment out the auto level and filament monitor code?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Stupid questions but:
Did you set the other thermistor in Marlin?
Did you changed the slicer settings so it knows your printer have dual extruders?

Understand that you won't have a filament sensor for the second extruder, but why you will loose the one for the first extruder and why you will loose the ABL function?
