Upgrade options

Like to upgrade to a new filament extruder

I have something that looks identical to the second gold one

It works fine with 3mm filament, I use a geared stepper motor.

I dont think it will work with 1.75, the idler bearing is grooved and the 1.75 would disappear into it, leaving very little to grip on.

The long arm on the idler tension thread is a pain, it always seems to be sticking out and catching on things (will depend on where you mount it of course)

I have two similar to your first link in action with 1,75mm Filament. --> No Problems.

1,75mm never disappears in the Groove of the bearing, so no Problem there.

I use two of the extruders in the first picture for my two color Bowden printer. I built an insert for it so the filament is 100% enclosed. Works great.
