hardware hardships

argh. i think my old tower is finally going out on me. its about 4 years old, is an old Microtel (cheapo walmart box) and it just wont take the ubuntu install i'm trying. i'm pretty sure its the cdrom drive thats failing, but i'm sure the rest cant be far behind. i'm going to borrow a drive from someone at work, or perhaps pick one up. if its not that, then one of the hard drives is probably about to fail.

regardless, i need a dedicated computer for my repstrap. i ordered a cheapo, refurbished 1.8ghz machine off geeks.com for $140. i think it will do the job nicely. i got my nvidia card today that i will probably slap in that box and then i will have no more excuses!

Sounds like you'll soon have an extra RepRap power supply anyway
