Reprap Huxley Part Leaning (y-axis)
February 22, 2013 11:02AM
Hi

I wondered if anyone else has had or knows of a solution to a printing problem I'm having with my Reprap Huxley. I've done a search through previous threads but couldn't find anything conclusive.

The problem is more obvious on cube shaped objects. When printing a cube the final part appears to be tilted in the y axis plane. I've attached a photo of two cubes side by side to try and highlight the problem. If you look closely you can see a gap between the cubes as the edges taper away. The edges in the x plane are pretty much parallel to the naked eye so I'm concluding that the problem is caused as a result of y axis movement is the heated bed moving. This problem occurs with ABS and PLA.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Ross

slip in your y-drive gear possibly? Did you file flats into the shaft to reduce slippage?

Your z rods are not perpendicular to your build platform. Adjust your frame.

Yes Greg Frost! That makes Sense, and I didn't think to try that either. I'll give it a go and see if I get an improvement. Thanks

I thought I would just confirm that this has solved the problem. Thanks for your help.
