New user with firmware issues.

Hi I'm currently building a Prusa with Sanguinololu board being controlled with a mac. Sprinter is the firmware.
The issue I currently have is that when I plug in my mechanical endstops my motors either stop turning or only go in one direction.
I'm aware that this is possible to fix in the firmware but as my board was already pre flashed i have no experience with it. I've tried to follow the instructions at [sanguino.cc] but the instructions don't seem to line up with the current IDE files.
I've also looked at these instructions.

The wash up of this is that in my version of the IDE there is no Sanguinololu board to select. And as such my board can't (?) be flashed.

This is my board:

These are my endstops:

I can rewire my endstops so that they are normally open as opposed to the currently normally closed (continuity when switch open)

Thanks for any help you can provide. I'm very excited to be part of your community and one day hope to be of help.

Cheers

Rob.

I seem to be progressing. My board is now in the IDE drop down and I can start the firmware uploading, however I get the following error;

avrdude: stk500_getsync(): not in sync: resp=0x81
avrdude: stk500_recv(): programmer is not responding

Any ideas?

Hi guys, happy to announce that my firmware now flashes.

If anyone else with a Sanguino board has trouble, I have used Arduino IDE 1.0.1 with the most recent Sanguino firmware.

Make sure you select the correct chip for your board. I wasn't getting a firmware that used the 1284P chip.

Also make sure you don't have pronterface or some other software using your port.

Thanks to Akhlut for replying and giving it a shot.

Cheers.
