Pursa / Mendelmax.

Hello,

I am quiet new to 3D printing,
Tho i can work with CNC machines, the concept of building a 3d printer is new for me etc,

I wanted to ask if you guys would prefer a Pursa i2 - I3 or mendelmax,
If you prefer a pursa, if the I3 is alot better of not realy?

Also i am planning to buy from this guy, only 380e, Incl tax its 480 +-
[www.charlies3dtechnologies.eu]
I wanted to ask if the stuff he uses, is alright?
I probably wont buy from him yet, gonna wait till he releases I3, he told me he would release it soon.

I also asked myself if its easy/is it possible to use other materials as plastic ?
I heard you could do sugar, and metal and metal, But are there any others, and is this do able?
And can you use like the same extruder for a Wood and plastic ?

thanks guys if you can help me with this ^^

Mhm, I am atm more thinking about the MakerFarm I3,
But since i live in Belgium, and makerfarm is located in America i am kinda afraid of the customs fee :/

I had some time ago a product from Canada, Customs asked 95 euro, when the product is 105 euro worth...

Meh..

Well it seems like a good site,
But i would like a whole kit, that has everything, Or atleast almost,

Twelvepro, well its like 800 dollars, For something thats less then the one from MakerFarm
(Makerfarm has a Screen and button and SD reader and heat platform, You only have to buy a glass and PSU to finish the build)

And the other website, well it only contains the frame work?
And they do have the kit also, but thats even more, aka 800 dollars,

On MakerFarm you get more, and its 580 dollars,
So ye.
Even tho that one with the Metal framework is from germany, 850 euro is like way to much imo when you can get it for alot cheaper from Makerfarm, and i aint sure if its any better, since all the hardware is the same i think anyhow.

no problem you see for myself i really don't understand, this is my view i wanted a 3d printer now i could of gone from buying one too expensive, buying a kit still expensive, self sourcing cheaper. my i3 frame i got cut at a local water jet cutting company, threaded and smooth bar from my local metal merchants, nuts and bolts from work, motors from china and electronics from china, plasic parts from forum members i have two crucial items left to buy to get printed and it has taken me 4 months to get here i had a budget of £50 to £75 p/m my build cost for the standard build was £387, but will go higher due none standard i3 parts im adding too

Nice,

Well the problem is that i have no idea where i should look in belgium for all those parts
thats why i think its alot easyer to just buy it from a webstore a kit

If it helps, I have had a makerfarm i3 running for 2 months now and its been great. Minimal calibration was needed. Wish it came with a fan mount.
the wood frame is pretty sturdy

Interesting. I have tried www.makerfarm.com on multiple browsers and multiple dns servers and it doesn't come up.
[edit] Weird I just tried it through a proxy and it comes up fine. Guess its time to take the issue to another more relevant board smiling smiley
