HI Reprapers..

A couple of months ago I started to build my 3D printer.
I have encountered many difficulties because this printer is built with scrap materials.
Now, that I finished building I encounter some details less well achieved. I entered the phase of improvements, with components already printed by itself.
Here I want to share these difficulties and improvements

Any help will be appreciated

Thanks,,,

You might get some posts on this if you put some of your pics on flicker. People (like me) don't like going to non well known URLs.

Nice build. I to am considering doing an prusa i3 based on wood for most of it. Had you given any thought to using wood any place else in your build? For example to replace those corner aluminum pieces?

Yes. My first thoughts were 'build all wood', but I think I have more skills and tools to working with aluminum than wood.
I think that all the parts that I built in aluminum, it is possible build them with wood, even the gear of extruder.

Makes sense. It also looks like the front and back where the threded rod is used could be switched to slats of wood with a hole cut in it for the smooth rods and belt to pass threw.

Yes. Could be, but I think the big problem of wooden slats is due to moisture and temperature may come to bend and deform the printer.
To avoid this, we can glue several layers of different wood types, but this process would be more expensive.
