Intermittent EndStops

Hi All,

I am trying to connect up my endstops to my sanguinololu 1.3 and they seem to be intermittent at best when using pronterface. I have tried checking the status and seen the output and they probably only fire about 60% if at all.

I have checked all my wiring which seems fine, they continuinty test fine with a multimeter both on the switch and on the pins of the holder on the sanguinololu meaning the signal is getting as far as the board so I think it may be a software/noise issue?

I have them wired from nc and com

I have tried without anything else connected to the board so there is less background noise coming from powered motors but this does not seem to make any difference.

Have you enabled internal pullups in the firmware?

I had these set to false so that the end stops were triggered when pushed in pronterface this showed as:
Reporting endstop status
x_max: TRIGGERED
y_max: open
z_min: open

with

const bool X_ENDSTOPS_INVERTING = false; // set to true to invert the logic of the endstops.
const bool Y_ENDSTOPS_INVERTING = false; // set to true to invert the logic of the endstops.
const bool Z_ENDSTOPS_INVERTING = false;

this is simply inverted when I change the values from false to true - it is still intermittent as to whether the the value actually changes when the button is held down or not.

i had this problem i reverted back to the original default marlin and then tried again seemed to work

What do you mean by default marlin? A particular version number? I have the latest marlin installed

Shall I add in a resistor like in this diagram? I didn't think it was needed.. [reprap.org]
