First time posting here hope I can get some help.
So I use to be able to print at 120 mm/sec no issues. Then I decided to modify my power supply since the dangling wires were causing it to short occasionally. I got it all working was powering my machine and everything however all of a sudden my y was skipping. First I readjusted the smooth rods, then the belt, lined them up and still had the issue. Next I messed with the pots with no change either was I did it. So then I slowed it down to different speeds and finally at about 80 mm?sec I had no skips.I am using self alighning bushings on y axis, when I move it by hand there is no skipping or snags unless I move it really abruptly the belt slips but it is as snug as it can be
So I haVe tried everything , but there is two potential caises.
1. Right after I changed the power supply I messed with the acceleration settings to max after noticing skipping I turned them off but still saw no change. Did slic3r change my firmware when I changed the acceleration?
2. My new power duopoly is shorting sparatically causing my axis to skip. I am inclines to not think this because it is only one axis skipping. I don't know power that well but my supply is putting out the right voltage, can't measure amps because the tester I got won't work, bit I asssume it's ok because hot end and bed heat up quick and perfectly fine.
any help/suggestions would end a lot of cursing at my machine
