This is my second printer build ... But this issue has be stumped bad ....

Trying to get this to print a 25mm test cube. It starts the first layer ok, then it all goes to hell... It seems to be getting jammed up. I have cleaned the hobbed bolt 6 times. Its like the hot end is not heating up all the way?? But its reading 230, and sure as hell is too hot to touch ... This is printing ABS. Any help would be great. this is a j-head, with a .35 nozzle & 3 mm filament. heated bed is @ 110.

Click here for video of the issue:

Thanks for any help or advice...

First off, turn down the current on the extruder motor driver so that the motor skips instead of carving out the filament when it jams. That'll save you some headache.

Did you ever have it printing nicely, or is this your first attempt?

Ok... I got it printing after rebuilding the jhead, and making some adjustments on the filament path... But now I'm getting a very odd shift while printing ... It gets about 6 layers off the bottom, then the Y jumps about 5mm .. It is doing this on every print !! I have ajusted the pot, and checked the belt, everything is good ... I might try and swap out the motor.
