Has anyone thought about using strimmer line (nylon) instead of ABS?
Its easy to get and comes in long roles suitable for the extruder.
You can probably bulk buy it to.

Most of the nylons that I've run across have a significantly higher working temperature than our present extruder technology can handle if I'm any judge.

I tried trimmer line and it initial extruded and then baked to a hard internal shell that had to be drilled out.

Oops sorry.

How long did it extrude for before clogging up and what brand of strimmer line did you use? My understanding is there are many different types of nylon used in strimer line. 1 down many more to try.

Most trimmer line is polypropylene, not nylon.

I do not remember as I brought at a local household store, I was it a rush to see hot plastic LOL!

I tossed it a while back. I think that trying to use a off the self product you might encounter a mixture of materials that might change from batch to batch.
