Dear Reprap Gurus,
I'm working on my i3 build and have come across this strange problem. In Pronterface or Repetier host I can move the axes up and down by 0.1 without any difficulty, but when I try a larger distance (eg. 1) the motors whistle but no movement occurs. They move successfully over larger distances with the test firmware running. This problem isn't fixable by adjusting the trim pot on the stepper drivers, as I've tried this when the motors are screeching their way "home" at the start of a test print. Any ideas? I'm using a RAMPS 1.4 by Sainsmart who also made the A4988 stepsticks I'm using, NEMA17 stepper motors from a hardware kit bought from a very reputable reprapper on ebay, Makerbot endstops and the following ATX power supply: [
