wanting to build a Ord Bot

I am wanting to build an ord bot, or a Prusa i3....I was pretty pleased with the overall cost till I sourced all the screws, nuts, spacers ect... I came up with a price of $116, I feel like I am obviously doing something wrong.... you guys don't typically pay that much just for the screws, nuts ect... do you? Anyone have some tips for me on sourcing these simple, yet vital pieces? Thanks

Osios

I'm in the US by the way

lol.. I paid 9.50 yesterday for 16 m3 screws and 12 m3 nuts. from the local hobby store. the hardware store wants berween $.15 to to $.45 for each peice. my son was with me.. I told him to to tell the wife.. unfortunately in the US we pay a premium. you can order them on line and get better prices, but sourcing them locally in the US is expensive.

I know for the Prusa i3 I am currently buying parts to build I bought all my screws/nuts/bolts/washers from Fastenal.com for $19. They have physical store locations, online ordering for either store pickup or shipping.

:\ going to have to figure something out cause thats just insane.... I might just buy a kit right now, was hoping to keep it under $500 since thats the limit my wife gave me sad smiley just hesitent about getting the diytechshop kit due to some complaints about delivery time, and other issues with the kit..... but I am pretty tech savy, and like to tinker so I geuss I'll have to make it work. Thanks for the reply and letting me know that everyone actually pays insane prices for screws, nuts, ect....

Also, if what they have in my local store is any indication of what they sell online, they have a very nice selection of rods. I got a very nice selection of precision smooth and threaded rods for about 60% less than what a rod kit was running on ebay and other sites.

You can also try boltdepot.com they have good prices and shipped fast. I bought nuts and bolts for my kossel with a lot of extra stuff for 25. Just the stuff for the kossel was like 13 bucks.
