Opto Endstop 2.1 Confusion

I may be a bit slow, but can someone translate this?

Quote
Insert the short leg (negative) into the hole closest to the flat side of the silkscreen.

which side is the flat side of the silkscreen? I'm not seeing a 'rounded' side. In the photo it appears as if the positive is on the left.

Thanks in advance :-)

Hi,
if you read "Blocked", at the right side..

Oh... I see now the circle is flat on top... wow I must be getting old, I didn't see that at first. So, to be absolutely sure... Negative is the top hole (assuming the board is placed with the text reading left to right)?

Thanks,

I believe you are trying to put an LED onto a circuit board.
A LED has a + and a - lead.

The silk screen image on the circuit board should have a D shape
where the LED goes. which should match the D shape of the LED's bottom so you put it in right.

alternatively there will be a "+" or a "-" on the board. Match the negative leg with the negative hole. etc

Hopefully this helps

Stephen

Thank you very much Stephen, i never noticed that LED's were D shaped. And all the other boards I ever put them in had +'s & -'s.

Thanks everyone :-)
