How to set thermistor type in firmware or software

Hi folks,

I saw this page here:
[reprap.org]

But I'm unsure how to set my thermistor types either in firmware (Marlin) or software (pronterface). Where does it need to be set? How do I set the type? Any help would be appreciated!

Looks like it needs to be set in Configuration.h, ie:

[github.com]
