Measuring the POT stepper drivers
February 20, 2014 11:02AM
Hello,

Wanted to ask if anyone knew how i could measure my V of my stepper driver?

I have a Makerfarm, So it has a Ramps 1.4 as motherboard,

It makes some noise, kinda alot, So i thought to adjust this to get less heat and less noise.

I hope someone knows this since i cant find info anywhere..

Thanks for the help!

To measure the voltage of the Pololu drivers on the Ramps board, put one meter lead on the adjustment pot itself and the other lead to ground on the power supply connector plug. Adjust the voltage to around 0.4v initially and see what you get. If your drivers are Stepsticks, you may need to go to 0.8v.

I did them to 3.9.

Most of them were around .39 and .405-.409

One of them skipped sometimes,
That one was at 0.378 i did it to 0.389, so hopefuly that was the problem,
