Round borosilicate plate in UK

Hi,

I am going back to the idea of making a Rostock/Kossel printer as my first printer. I am trying to find an affordable supplier for a round borosilicate plate in the UK with a print volumr of between 300mm x 300mm and 400m x 400mm (but round and not square).

Can anyone recommend a supplier for the glass in the UK?

What thickness do I really need?

Is there any alternatives to borosilicate glass I should consider?

I was thinking of using something like this to heat the plate: [www.aliexpress.com] Is there anything wrong with using one of these?

If you can answer any of my questions I would love to hear from you.

Did you notice that this particular heater pad is 220V? You'll need to wire it to mains (wall) power, and either use a SSR or external temperature controller to regulate it.....

Well spotted vreihen, It has 220v listed for the round pad, 24v listed for the rectangular pad and 12v in the product title.

I will have it made to order to match the size of the glass plate. I can choose any voltage I like.

You can do tempered (plate) glass, but the cost for getting a proper cut and buffed round piece by the time it is tempered may be getting close to the cost of finding a B.S.piece ready made - if you can. Tempered glass will withstand around 700f. hot smileyIt is about 20% the price of stove glass in the US, and since the cost for tempering seems to be the same, regardless of size, the bigger the area, the better it looks from a cost consideration.
