J-head nozzle popping out of PEEK body during print
June 29, 2014 02:01PM
Hello,

Can anyone suggest me what to do with the j-head hotend? I cant even print PLA at 190-200 degrees, the nozzle just comes out of PEEK holder. This wasn't a problem
since the beginning, I did print about 2 kgs of material, it just started recently when I had a maxtemp error and the temperature of the nozzle never went beyond 248-250 degrees.

Current situation is, I clear the jam and put it back in action, it will print some layers (for about 8-10 minutes) and then the orientation changes, the nozzle gets swivelled and comes
out of the PEEK body. This could be due to the extrusion pressure? Any workaround to make use of this or I have to get a new one?

Thank you for your time.

Regards.

Put a jubilee clip around the peek body. Would be useful to have a fan blowing at the peek part too.

For a jhead the maximum operating temperature is 247 degrees Celsius as PEEK will soften at 248 degrees Celsius.

Basically its dead, get a new PEEK body.

Also check your temperature reading are spot on.. when your so near the melting point, you cant afford any errors.
