LCD+Click encoder for MArlin on RAMPS 1.4

Hello,

I have assembled my reprap 3d printer with ATTMEGA2560, RAMPS1.4, LCD & click encoder.

I have also modified the configuration.h & pins.h files for these hardware changes but lcd does not show any text.

Had any one added a lcd + click encoder to his 3d printer? If YES can you let me know the changes in firmware files.

Which lcd you have?
Just follow the instructions on marlin configuration h. At the bottom section.
Pick your model from the list, remove the // in front of it and add the corresponding library. Flash the mod to your board and you are done.

I have 20x4 lcd based on HD44870..

Been having similar issue - I used the G3D connections as per this page, and just enable G3D in config.h (that should give SD + encoder + LCD...

...had to attach a variable preset resistor to V0 (pin 3 on the LCD) and adjust, that gave me two lines of black squares...

... then I grounded pin 5 on the LCD, that got me text. Still got an issue with no display without a USB lead attached, I reckon I need a D1 removed or attached on the Ramps.

Hi Pat McD,

The G3D thing works...... , but I don't see the menu in the lcd.

It only displays some values..

I have connected the click encoder as well..

Got it....

I forgot to connect GND pin on click encoder to RAMPS..
