Have I damaged my motors bearings?

When I was putting the plastic pulley on my motor for the extruder, I had to apply a lot of pressure and afterwards it didn't feel very smooth to turn the pulley by hand. Now it's part of the extruder and when I turn the big gear it feels normal. Is there a chance I could have broken my motor?
Thanks
Ben

Very unlikely. The motors will have resistance to turning, it's rather hard to explain how much of resistance but as long as you did not have to hammer the gear on you should be fine.

That's great, thank you very much for that.

One thing that scared me a while back was that disconnected steppers feel very different when their wires are shorted. If you are working with a stepper and the wires happen to touch it'll be way harder to turn, it might feel like there's something jammed in it.
