Having trouble w/heatbed

Good morning everyone.....

I'm having trouble with my heatbed. I think I have the EPCOS 10000k b/c that is what the guy I bought it from is telling me. However, this link tells the that I should set SERIAL_R to 4700 as the resistor is labeled 472 (47 w/2 zeroes).

Am I confused?

A little background.... I bought a Prusa I3 Mendel w/the Melzi v2.0 card. I've been working on this thing non-stop for a week now and I'm very close to printing my first piece. I've had great troubles but I've learned an aweful lot. This has been an awesome experience and I see myself doing many more of these projects. As soon as I get this one printing I want to make another one with parts I printed and bought online and at the hardware store.

I'm running Arduino 1.0.6 on Windows 8.1. Repetier Host 1.0.6. When I connect in Repetier the extruder temp goes to the temp I set in config.h @220 (for ABS). I'm sure I'll have to tweak that but that's an average of what I read on different sites. I can home all axis w/no trouble. Fans work. Just not the heatbed.

I've disconnedted the connectors for the heatbed from the motherboard and tested the OHMs and I get 0.01 at room temp. I get the same thing for the extruder thermistor but it is working.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Also, I'm not evening seeing any readings in Repetier for the heatbed.

So I supplied 12v @ 300ma to the bed thermistor and it heated up nicely but I have no control over it as repetier doesn't even recognize that I have a heated bed. I'm thinking it is a software issue but I just can't figure it out.

Ok so this is wierd. I load Pronterface and turn the heat bed on and it works. So it looks like it is a setting with Repetier-Host with repetier host that is causing the problem. Now the problem I'm having is that the board itself is getting really hot. Like burning my finger when I touch the heatsink hot. Any ideas?
