I have been lurking for a while and though I would chime in, I didn’t find an introduction section like many forums have so I’ll start here. I have been using a 3D printer at a local makerspace and am starting to realize the possibilities that these things offer. I have decided on the MedelMax 2.0 as printer of choice, it seems to have the characteristics I'm looking for and can be expanded to do larger prints later. So far I done a lot of research but haven't printed any parts or ordered any hardware. I have access to machining tools, metal cutting tools and other maker space resources and hope to fabricate as much as possible. My main constraint is time (I have a lot of projects) and $$ after that, I’ll be checking back here regularly for tips and tricks to help avoid costly mistakes.
Cheers

Welcome. Though you have access to fabrication hardware, you might be better off starting with an established kit with all of the necessary parts pre-fabricated and access to decent build instructions. In most cases, the "vitamins" are the same between different families of printers allowing you to cut your teeth on something simple and then move the components to a custom machine later on when you have more time.
