Lost display on Prusa i3

Hi all,

Not sure what I have, and not a clue how to fix it.

I have just built a Prusa i3 from a kit from Greg C, not really any problems with the build it's all done. Now on to the software, I downloaded the Arduino software, opened it, got totally lost, closed it. Downloaded the Marlin software, can find any exe, not sure what to do with it. Downloaded Slic3r and Pronterface, between these I managed to test the components of the printer and eventually print a test cube and even quite a good looking little Marvin, very impressed.

Now, this is where it's all gone wrong, I was looking to try and fix one problem I have that the Y axis and having the end stop switch at the front and the printer wanting at the back, in my desperation I opened up the Arduino and was going through that, I found a config.ini that came in the marlin download, along the way I think I have loaded this onto the Arduino, once restarted I have now lost the graphic display and lost control from Pronterface, although I can still connect.

PLEASE can someone tell me what I have done wrong and how to fix it..

Ok, from what you mentioned, you never flash the firmware, but after setting pronterface you were able to operate the machine, right?

Now, fixing a problem you opened marlin and flash it to the board, right?

If these two assumptions are correct, the what you just did, was to flash a basic marlin version without the graphic display set, also you might have changed the board type or the connection speed setting.

Whatever you did, the best solution will be to download the marlin file for that printer and re-flashed to the board.

Yes you are correct in your assumptions. I have reading up on what I have done and also been in contact with Greg C who sold the kit, and he has now told me the same.

So now armed with the correct information I will give it a go when I get home from work, lets see if I can get it going again.
