Ramps 1.4 or Rumba Board?

I will be purchasing my first 3d printer from makerfarm as I have decided that the Prusa I3V 12" is probably the best for what I want to make. Howver I am not sure if I should go with Ramps 1.4 or Rumba. Rumba is newer, and apparently better, but I can not find very much on it. Have any of you used it, or have experience with it?

IMHO even if the Rumba is better than a Ramps, if you realy want to upgrade, go for more inboard CPU speed. At comparable price, there's the Duet and the Radds.

I agree, you should only be choosing an 8-bit controller board if you are on a very tight budget, in which case go for the ancient but cheap Arduino/RAMPS combination. The Duet costs a little more than the Rumba but has 4 stepper drivers on-board, provides software control of stepper motor current, and provides an Ethernet port supporting a very good web interface - as well as much greater processing power.

If your budget is tight or you want plug-in stepper motors drivers, and you can live without the web interface (I couldn't!), then the AZSMZ Mini may be a good choice - but I have no personal experience of that board.

If you want a 16 bits single board instead of a couple Mega/Ramps, you can buy the MKS Gen for less than $35 (free shipping). It's a single board improved version of the Ramps 1.4 with a lot of extra features (multiple extruders, cascade drivers output, etc.) and better wire management.
