Hi, I have the Folger reprap i3, I am tired of the messy hair spray. I am wondering if I can use a Makerbot or othre 3D printer build plate instead? Thx.

You can use different methods for print adhesion also.

Are you printing PLA or ABS. I don't have experience with PLA but with ABSI have no problem on Kepton tape and a heated bed a 120°C

Use purple glue stick instead.

PVA glue mixed with water, dab that on with a sponge- works great for PLA
