DVR8825 microstep jumper setting don't register
May 17, 2015 09:52PM
Hi,

I have used the DVR 8825 for some time now and they worked well on 1/32 setting. Now I wanted to save some calculation power on the chip and go back to 1/16.

I looked up the jumper settings here set only the jumper furthest away from the bladefuses (m3/ mode2). Then I halved the steps in the firmware, but now all movement come 50% to short. It is as the board still expects 1/32 steps with 50% reduced steps.

Any ideas?

I´ve read rumors about some cloned RAMPS boards, that have bridges on the PCB between the jumperpins. (stupid )
No matter, if the jumper is there or not, it will stay in 1/32 until you cut the bridge on the PCB.

Calculation time is no issue between 1/16 and 1/32. It is just one register shift more or less smiling smiley
