Print head moving down before printing

Hi all,
Firmware sorted (I think). Tried first print and I find that the print head moves down towards the bed as it starts to print and tries to force the bed down.
I have followed the instructions relative to setting the head gap and all is well after homing until it starts to print. Having watched the print until the head moves up to check that it's going in the right direction, which it is. When I aborted the print it homes but when try to slide the bed under the head it has moved down and it hits the glass.

I also notice that the faint outline it has made is a mirror image.

Any ideas?

This is weird , mostly the issue is that it starts printing to high from the bed.
The easy solution is to put your z home stop higher.. You are not using auto level, are you.
There is a firmware fix for this, but what firmware are you using?
