Fellow printer owners,
I have recently obtained a GEEETech i3 Pro B with an 8mm acrylic frame and a metal x-axis.
Soon after assembling the printer I started my calibrations and fine tuning, and the results are pretty okay if I say so myself.
However, when I want to print slightly larger objects then a bed leveling knob or a fan shroud for the MK8 extruder on the printer then throughout the print it randomly pauses/restarts or even completely resets.
I have tried doing the same prints with a USB connection using Repetier-Host 1.6.1 and a SD card running the latest Marlin 1.1.0 RC5 firmware on the GT2560 board that came with the printer.
Using a USB stream it randomly gives a Serial COM Error: System.IO.Ports.SerialErrorReceivedEventArgs! during a print, sometimes it waits for about 10 seconds before resuming and sending the buffered code and only leaves a little heated blob of material on the print. However, even if it resumes it goes on for a little while more and then stops again, but this time it completely resets the connection to the printer and the firmware reboots.
Using a SD card this problem is also existant, however when using a SD card the printer stops, starts beeping for a solid 5-10 seconds and then resets.
The LCD that is connected gives a couple of completely black characters over the original characters and everything freezes, I can't even at that point use Repetier-Host to connect to it anymore.
The only way around this is to completely cycle the power of the printer.
I have already checked my connections, my PSU and have also tried Cura and Slic3r but this does not give a difference.
The object also varies, and so do the times the printer fails.
Does anybody have an idea about what this could be?
Update:
I have tested the stable 1.0.2-1 release from Marlin but this gives the same effect.
