hey, thanks for your interest in the project!
right now we're working on the parts list. we're actually pretty close. the circuit boards are on their way, and the mechanicals are generally nothing more than the printed parts, rods, nuts, bolts, motors, and wires.
i'm going to look into making that online parts-list service... it would be nice to be able to have an easy way to keep it up to date and also be able to auto-generate a master list to use.
oh, as for the file type... its .stl which is a generic 3d format. you can export them from lots of 3d programs.
