See this wiki page.

As that page mentions, you can contact the manufacturer, get the spec sheet, and sometimes get an answer. But sometimes the manufacturers change the colors and don't mention it, even among motors of the same batch!

So it's easier to use the methods outlined above. You don't even need a multi-meter, just your hands and maybe a piece of paper and pencil to keep track of your progress.

I have a spec sheet just not sure that I understand it. Have attached it to this.
Thanks very much for the reply.

*if* that spec sheet is correct,

Safety off black and white. They are the common wires and you don't need them, but don't let them touch anything (including eachother) either.

coil A is Brown/Orange
Coil B is Red/Yellow

So on the connector to the stepper driver, it goes brown, orange, red, yellow.

If the motor goes backwards, turn it off, unplug it, and plug it in backwards. (See the wiki page for details.)

If I where you I'd still want to verify the wiring with a multi-meter, or by touching pairs of wires and seeing how difficult it is to turn the stepper shaft with your fingers.

Yes I understand it at last after reading the wiki page.
Simple really.
Thank you very much for the info.
I'll get some 4 pin headers and housings and test with a ohm meter.
:-)
