Printhead pauses during printing

My prints have pauses seemingly before and after the rapid movements on each layer.
The behavior is shown at youtube link. Stumped for two days, any help appreciated.

Don't print from a PC, print from SD card instead. See #3 at [reprap.org].

Same results from SD print or usb. Good linkage though, 4 years no trouble printing over usb = good luck.

Are you certain that your slicer hasn't inserted pause commands into the gcode to enforce a minimum layer time?

Not certian but did not find any Mcode pauses or a G4.
Would the "inserted pause commands" come from Slic3r's Filament Settings/Cooling "Slow down if layer print time is below" ?

I can't see anything obviously wrong with that gcode. All the movements appear to be at least 0.5mm long.

If you can provide a whole layer of gcode and mark in it one or more points where those pauses definitely occur, I'll take another look.

Switched to slicing a 15x15x1.2mm cube. Gcode below starts a few lines before Z move to 1.3 and the two pauses at start of the 4th layer (also roughly start of video.)
Odd thing, printing did not pause during traverse (or any) move in the three previous layers.

Got it. No retraction no pausing. Duh.

I'm glad you solved it, but surprised that 2mm retraction @ 2400mm/min causes such long pauses.
