Y motor not getting power
January 13, 2017 10:09PM
Hi guys,

I was measuring the voltage in my stepper motor driver and I got a little spark. I thought I had burned the driver, but it's working fine. However, when I turn on my printer and activate Y axis it keep the message "echo:busy: processing" and never run. Also, my stepper motor is working fine. I guess the problem is on my ramps. Does anyone know how to check if pins and connections for y driver is working? And if ramps burned on the y connection, does anyone know if I can use the E1 connections to set up Y?

Thank you!

there is no feed back from the stepper drivers to the micro controller. you can completely remove the stepper drivers and the controller will not notice (or care) (presuming standard polulu type drivers and not something with modern SPI control)

The issue is elsewhere.

I suspect you spiked the mega, and it is seriously damaged and needs replaced.
Could be anything, damaged ADC, dead timers... unlikely to just be dead IO pins.
