Cooling Nozzle Air Flow on A8

Cooling Nozzle Air Flow on A8

Was using the A8 with one of the half-crescent shaped air nozzles instead of the default print cooling nozzle that comes with the machine. Seems like all of these nozzles on Thingaverse and the like all restrict the flow of the cooling fan big time. You can hear it when the fan is running as you put the nozzle on. I ended up going back to the nozzle that was supplied, as junky as it is, and modifying it by cutting a big rectangle on the underside of the thing. This rectangle retains the side and top shape of the nozzle but provides much more air volume than I was getting with anything else. I cut it back around a 1/3 of the way to the bend and it seems to be blowing like crazy now. Prints are definitely better on the edges and I can feel a hot, directed wind coming off the other side of the print nozzle. Anyone else have experience with different air cooling setups? Thank you.

Hi!

I have printed and used one of the popular on thingiverse.
Agree that there is plenty of desighflaws. Ducting and airflow,
is not easy to do it the proper way.
Did see one yesterday, that had different sizes on the holes.

My is working good enough. But have a rework design in my mind.
I alos consider the A8 a project. need alot of mods and work. Fun though!
