Single line calligraphy/handwriting fonts?

Hi,

i have recently been playing around with using my printer as a plotter and I got asked to draw some invitations.

If I google single line or open contour fonts I find some but Im looking specifically for something that looks more like calligraphy.

Has anyone ever come across some good looking fonts like this?

The "hershey text" extension in Inkscape gives single stroke fonts

Interesting, I didn't know about the Hershey extension. However, when I use it, the text appears upside down for me smileys with beer

if you look in hershey.py you find

# SVG fonts use inverted Y axis; mirror vertically
scale_text = 'scale('+format(scale,'.6f')+', -'+format(scale,'.6f')+')'

so im sure you could manipulate it to be in any orientation you need
