How much holding torque require for stepper

Hello

How much holding torque does the reprap require for steppers? NEMA 17 stepper has 0.42lb-ft well we have different standers here, we don't the local stander 56 stepper has similar holding torque.

I don't know the 0.42lb-ft is necessary or not.

Any help me?

In the wiki there is a section about minimum torque. I have no idea how to translate those units in lb-ft but if you're interested you can probably find out : [reprap.org]
