Z axis repetability issues
April 13, 2020 02:11PM
I have a homebrew Prusa clone, running a kfb2.0 board, which I just upgraded my X, Y, and Z drivers from the A4980 to TMC2130 standalone config.
I was having no mechanical problems with the setup previously, but now am having a real head scratcher on the Z axis.
My Z is using dual steppers, wired in parallel, with 5mm threaded rod. No issues prior to the change out. However, I am not getting reputability on the Z axis, and am loosing height on moves, aprox .1mm per 10mm travel. I have the Z driver in Spreadcycle mode. I did have it in Stealthchop initially, and swapped it thinking that was the issue.
While each individual movement may not be much, it adds up to after homing and autoleveling, it looses several mm in height. I cannot use it this way. I presume it to be a driver issue, but do not know if it is a voltage adjustment needed or some other issue.
Any help would be appreciated.
