RAMPS Question

So I started putting together the electronics while I wait for parts to arrive in the mail. I will be using the Pololu drivers with an arduino combo. It all went together pretty slick, except the reset button. I wanted it to the same button as what would be on the Mega as it will be right on top of it, but the PCB board appears to need a single pole switch and the arduino uses a dual pole switch...

My real question is- for the reset switch, were only connecting "1" to "2" on the PCB correct? in which case my switch can do that fine.

The pin pattern won't match up, but yeah, itwill work.

I Hate to nit pick,

But your Polo Drivers appear to have pins poking out the tops,

Mine are coming out the other side leaving the IC & trim pot accessible,

and mine do work!

This is true, they do come out the top. But they should function they same either way... I'm just not seeing the conflict. The ic shouldn't need any heat sink for the amps on my motors and a little screwdriver should be able to adjust the pot just fine.

Not arguing, just trying to make sure I'm not missing anything.

You would have to solder the sockets for the Pololu's on the opposite side of the board in order to insert the chips. When you do, the trimpots won't be accessible. It's best to adjust this with the system running. Also, you should use heatsinks on chips to prevent them from overheating.

I agree. Your headers need to come off. You won't be able to install them this way.

Well thanks for bringing this up now rather than the headache later. I'm swapping them out now...
