March 18, 2022 07:00AM
Hi, recently i finished off a whole spool of filament and then got my self a new spool of the same material by the same manufacturer but different color. when i start to print with this spool i noticed that there were some delamination issues and i tried almost everything i know to fix it.

what i did:
increased and decreased the retraction length
increased and decreased temperature
reduced part cooling fan speed
reduced speed

can somebody pls help me!

... delamination is mostly caused by low temp, so the layers won't melt together -- so rise temperature higher, than with your previous tests ...

What type of filament was it?

ABS is the type most people have problems with because their printers aren't enclosed/heated and often the bed doesn't get hot enough. You can make small (like 1/2 the size of your fist) ABS prints on most machines, but try anything larger or long narrow prints and you're asking for trouble. The problem is that ABS shrinks as it cools, and the shrinking applies a lot of force to the parts of the print that have already cooled off.
